    Duck

    Duck is a great protein source with many nutritional benefits for your pet, including a well-balanced array of amino acids. Duck also contains generous amounts of iron, phosphorus, zinc, copper, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, Vitamin B6, and Vitamin B12. Both zinc and selenium are antioxidants that help to boost the immune system. Selenium also helps to maintain normal thyroid function. Another nutritional benefit to duck is its content of omega-3 fatty acids, which help to provide your pet with healthy skin and coat. Many pet owners with dogs that have food allergies prefer foods containing duck, due to the fact that duck is probably one of the best protein sources for dogs that suffer from allergies to other meats.

    Duck liver is an excellent source of high-quality protein. Not only do pets love the flavor, liver is known to be one of the most concentrated sources of natural vitamin A of any food. Liver is also a great source of folic acid and all of the B vitamins (particularly vitamin B12), which help with fatigue, mental ability and nerve health, as well as preventing anemia. Liver also contains one of the best sources of iron. The primary function of iron is oxygen transport and cell respiration. Iron is also necessary for many functions in the body including formation of hemoglobin, brain development and function, regulation of body temperature, muscle activity and metabolism. The iron in liver is one of most easily digestible and usable sources of iron. Duck liver is also particularly abundant in phosphorus, zinc and copper.

    Sunflower oil contains a high level of linoleic acid produced by expressing the oils of sunflower seeds. Sunflower oil is low in saturated fat, which makes it a better choice than oils and fats that are high in saturated fat.  Sunflower oil is used to provide essential fatty acids.  Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are fats that must be supplied in the diet because the body cannot produce them. They are required for normal growth and functioning of the cells, muscles, nerves, and organs and the production of prostaglandins.  Deficiencies of EFAs are linked to a variety of health problems, including heart disease, cancer and diabetes.

Adjust the amount of food you serve based on the age, size and activity level of your dog. Food should be fed at room temperature. Promptly refrigerate the unused portion. Fresh water should always be available. 

 

ADULT (Normal Resting Activity) Feed 1 ounce for each lb. of body weight per day.
ADULT (Active) Feed 1.25 ounces per lb. of body weight per day.
ADULT (Highly Active and/or outdoor pets) Feed 1.5 ounces per lb. of body weight per day.
Puppy Feed up to twice the adult amount per day.
Gestation & Lactation Feed up to three times the adult amount per day.
Combination Feeding Feed 1/3 cup less dry food for every 1/2 can of wet food.
